3rd Summer School “CONNECTING HERITAGE“
The 29th and 30th of May 2023 marked a significant milestone in the Yades project as partners convened in Milan for the 3rd Yades Summer School. Adopting a hybrid format that accommodated both in-person and online participants, the event opened up an expansive dialogue on the evolving concept of heritage.
The Yades Summer School offered a platform for insightful discussions on this expanded view of heritage. The event revolved around the technical-scientific perspective of assessing and mitigating climate-related risks to heritage, a focal point of the Yades project’s work.
The discussions were structured around three central themes:
– the architecture and landscape of historical centres,
– urban planning and adaptation strategies, and
– risk evaluation and decision-making.
Lecturers and discussion participants aimed to inspire the next generation of researchers and enthusiasts to continue working on ways to preserve cultural heritage cities and objects for the future generations.
